Phyllis Czapla, age 87 of Plymouth Mi. passed away on March 11, 2024.
Phyllis was born in Cass City, Michigan on September 19, 1936 to her parents, the late Emma (née Finkbeiner) and John Dunlap. She is the beloved and devoted wife of 54 years to the late Eugene Czapla; loving mother of Dana (Melinda) Czapla and Czeslaw (Antoinette) Czapla. She is pre-deceased by her son, Brian Czapla, brother John Dulap II and his wife Janice. Phyllis is the proud grandmother of Zachary, Jacob (Staci), Roman and great-grandmother of Wade. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Jan (Jerry) Taylor. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her sister Janice (the late Don) Smith.
Phyllis was a longtime business owner of Drapery by Phyllis in Plymouth.
She was well-known in the Plymouth Community as an active member at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church.
She was especially active in their Music Ministry and was the bass player for Masses with the Guitar group.
She was also active in the Shawl Ministry constantly crocheting as she relaxed in the evening.
Phyllis was a bicycle enthusiast. And was a member of the Ann Arbor Bicycle Touring Society. She loved riding her bike and could be seen riding all around Plymouth. Bicycling played a significant part of her regular exercise routine. She logged over 50,000 miles with her club.
Friends may visit the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth, Michigan on Sunday, March 17, 2024 from 2:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. There will be a Rosary at 6:00 P.M.
Phyllis will be instate on Monday, March 18, 2024 beginning at 9:30 A.M. until the time of the 10:00 A.M. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 47650 North Territorial Road, Plymouth, Michigan.
Following the Mass, all are invited for refreshments being served at the Church. Anyone who wishes, may also be in the procession to Riverside Cemetery in Plymouth where Phyllis will be laid to rest.
