June 6, 1928 – September 12, 2023

Beloved father of Mary Mueller (Colleen McInerney), James M. Mueller (Susan Sprung), Anne
McClarnon (Hugh Gandy), John Mueller (Claire), Tom Mueller (Diane), Karen Clinton (John), and
Kathleen Mueller (Andy Thomas). Loving step-father of Gina Frankhart (Rick), Jeff Lukens
(Cheryl), Ted Lukens (Laura), Mary Lukens (Dave Burdick), Lisa Lukens (Jim O’Brien), Mark
Lukens (Theresa), Rob Lukens (Dale), and Ann Weise (Cameron). Proud grandfather of 32
grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Also survived by sister Catherine Bonomo (Philip) and
brother Paul Mueller (Barbara). Preceded in death by his first wife, Helen McClarnon Mueller,
second wife Clara Lukens Mueller, three sons – Bill Mueller, Paul Mueller, and Joe Mueller, S.J.
and two siblings – Jeanette Schlegel and Fr. Gene Mueller. Jim was very proud of his large family.
A devout Catholic, he was an active member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in
Plymouth, MI. He worked for 35 years as an engineer at Chrysler Corporation and later Yazaki
Corporation. He used his engineering mind to tinker, fix any broken object and invent unique
solutions to nearly any problem. He volunteered many years for Habitat for Humanity. Most
recently he was a resident of Fox Run Village in Novi, MI. His love of music included singing in
church choirs and the Fox Run Men’s Chorus. He also delighted his family by playing the flute at
Christmas and other family gatherings, an instrument he first played in the marching band in
high school.

Visitation at Vermeulen-Sajewski Funeral Home, 46401 Ann Arbor Road West (Between Sheldon and Beck) in Plymouth on Tuesday, September 19th 3:00-8:00 pm, recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 pm.

Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 47650 North Territorial Road (at Beck) in Plymouth on Wednesday, September 20th, 11:00 AM, In state at 10:30 AM.
