Prayer Ministries

Jesus wants you to know the healing power of His love! Our trained prayer ministers are instruments of God’s mercy to help you.

Different Types of Prayer Ministry

Friends of the Holy Souls

The works of mercy are charitable actions by which we come to the aid of our neighbor in his spiritual and bodily necessities. CCC 2447.

The Friends Of The Holy Souls Ministry practices both spiritual and corporal works of mercy by attending funeral Masses to pray for the deceased and all who mourn their loss. If you have a devotion for the souls in purgatory and would like more information please email Vicki Rosati.

Healing Prayer Ministry After Mass

In a desire to continue Jesus’ ministry of healing, we have put in place “healing prayer ministry teams” who interceded and minister to those in need of spiritual or physical healing after Mass or other parish activities. Receive prayer after most Saturday & Sunday masses at the baptismal font (no appointment needed). Please contact Ann-Marie Horvath or MaryBeth & Kevin Wilson for more information.

Inner Healing Prayer Sessions

The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works for the devil. 1 John 3:8.

Using a variety of models from successful books and ministries such as “Unbound” (Neal Lozano) and “Be Healed” (Dr Bob Schuchts) trained prayer ministers schedule and lead you through healing prayers. Through these prayers, based on sound Catholic principles in communion with the sacraments of the Church, you may receive healing through an encounter with the love of Jesus; Who encourages us to receive prayer for physical, spiritual and emotional healing. Please contact Carol Brewis for more information.

Intercessory Prayer Group, The Watchmen

Upon your walls I've placed a watchman. Isaiah 62:6

We pray daily in the Spirit for the intentions of our parish leadership, trusting in our Father's providence. Each watchman is called to be open to the movement of the Holy Spirit and find opportunities to hear from the Lord, such as in weekly adoration. We meet together quarterly and pray for the mission of our parish.

"Intercession is a prayer of petition which leads us to pray as Jesus did. He is the one intercessor with the Father on behalf of all men, especially sinners. Since Abraham, intercession-asking on behalf of another-has been characteristic of a heart attuned to God's mercy. As members of the Church, the Body of Christ, our intercession participates in Christ's, as an expression of the communion of saints." CCC#2634

Servants of Mercy

The Servants of Mercy pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet daily for the sick and dying.

Jesus said “… when they say this chaplet in the presence of the dying, I will stand between My Father and the dying person, not as the just Judge but as the merciful Savior .” (Diary #1541). This is a promise from Jesus that we trust is being fulfilled in our prayers.

If you have a loved one in need of prayer, please contact us and we will pray for them or if you would like a in-person visit, we will send prayer ministers to pray with and for your loved one.

We also extend Jesus’ invitation for you to join us by praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet daily.

Seven Sisters Apostolate

A call to strengthen the Church by ensuring that a Holy Hour is prayed each day of the week for the sole intention of a specific priest or bishop—a “holy wasting” (Mt. 26:10) or lavishing of prayer for his deeper conformity to Christ.

Spiritual Direction

For those seeking help in deepening their personal relationship with God, Our Lady of Good Counsel offers an opportunity to meet with a trained spiritual director. The role of a spiritual director is to accompany you in your journey and assist you in discerning God’s Will for you. While attentively listening to you as well as the Holy Spirit, the director’s role is to help guide you so that you may respond and cooperate with what the Spirit is trying to do in your life. All sessions are private and confidential and are scheduled by appointment. Please contact Brian Pickard for more information
