Lectors
Any confirmed Catholic who has the gift of being able to proclaim the Word of God in the Sacred Assembly may ask to be formed and commissioned as a lector. Those who wish to proclaim the Word of God in the Sacred Assembly must be willing to pray over and prepare the Sacred Scriptures for the Eucharist, morning and evening prayer, Reconciliation liturgies, and any other gathering where the Word is proclaimed. Lectors are asked to undertake three formation sessions before being commissioned, and they must be available and open to continuing formation for this important ministry.
